Email Marketing

Email marketing that actually gets opened and acted on.

Email has an average ROI of £42 for every £1 spent. Most businesses squander that by sending generic newsletters nobody reads. I set up and manage email programmes that are relevant, well-timed and designed to drive revenue.

The challenge

Is your email marketing generating revenue or just using up a subscription?

Most small business email marketing fails for the same reasons: no segmentation, no automation, no clear goal per email, and a list that has never been cleaned. The result is low open rates, high unsubscribes and a platform you are paying for but not benefiting from.

xMonthly newsletter that gets a 12% open rate and drives no measurable action
xEmail list that has never been segmented so everyone gets the same messages
xNo automated welcome sequence for new subscribers
xEmails going to spam because domain authentication has never been set up
xNo A/B testing so there is no learning about what works
xAbandonment emails, post-purchase sequences and win-back campaigns that have never been built
What I offer

Email marketing strategy, setup and management.

I plan, set up and manage email marketing programmes on Klaviyo, Mailchimp and HubSpot. Strategy first, then execution. Every campaign and every automation is built around a clear commercial goal.

I have managed email marketing at enterprise level, including complex HubSpot nurture sequences, campaign tracking and list hygiene across large databases. The same discipline goes into every client engagement.

Everything included:

  • Platform setup and domain authentication
  • List segmentation and hygiene
  • Welcome and onboarding automation
  • Abandoned cart or enquiry sequences
  • Post-purchase or post-service follow-up
  • Win-back and re-engagement campaigns
  • Monthly newsletter strategy and copywriting
  • A/B testing and performance optimisation
  • Deliverability monitoring and improvement
  • Reporting: opens, clicks, conversions, revenue
  • Integration with CRM and ecommerce platforms
  • GDPR-compliant list management
The outcome

An email programme that earns revenue consistently. Automated sequences that convert new subscribers and lapsed customers. Campaigns that get opened, clicked and acted upon.

How it works

How I set up and manage email marketing.

01

Audit and strategy

Review of your current platform, list health, open rates, automation gaps and competitor email activity. A clear strategy for the next 6 months: what to send, when, to whom and why.

02

Technical setup

Domain authentication (DKIM, SPF, DMARC), list import and cleaning, segmentation setup, unsubscribe and preference centre configuration. Getting the foundations right is what prevents emails ending up in spam.

03

Automation build

Welcome series, onboarding sequences, abandoned behaviour triggers and any other automations. Built, tested and reviewed before activating.

04

Campaign calendar

Monthly broadcast calendar planned in advance. Subject lines, content, segments and send times all planned before the month starts. No scrambling for content the day before a send.

05

Optimisation and reporting

Monthly review of performance data. What is working, what is not, what to test next. A/B tests built into the programme so we are always learning.

Kind words

What clients say.

"Searching for website designers gave us a long list to choose from, but we're so glad we found Richard at Harrison Mann. He's been incredibly helpful with digital marketing advice and support, and thanks to him, we've now got a solid plan in place to boost footfall at both of our salons."

"We wanted more control over our website, as we'd been relying on another agency to make updates. Being able to change content ourselves quickly was important, and the custom WordPress website now lets us do just that. The new site has already helped boost our sales."

Lynne Stutterheim

"After opening our new flooring showroom, I knew we needed a strong online presence. Finding the right website designer in Bradford made all the difference. We now have a great site that shows up locally for the keywords our customers are searching. It's the little percentage improvements that the team have really helped us with, we're already seeing more people coming through the doors."

Good to know

Frequently asked questions.

I work with Klaviyo (best for ecommerce), Mailchimp (best for small businesses with simple needs) and HubSpot (best for B2B businesses with CRM requirements). I will recommend the right platform for your goals before you commit to a subscription.
Usually it comes down to three things: domain authentication (DKIM, SPF and DMARC records not set up), sending to a dirty list with too many invalid addresses, and content that triggers spam filters. I diagnose and fix all three as part of every setup project.
Depends on your audience and what you have to say. For most B2B businesses, once or twice a month is the right frequency. For ecommerce, more frequent promotional emails work if the content is relevant. The rule is: only send when you have something worth saying.
Yes. I can set up lead magnets, pop-up forms, landing pages and integration with your website to consistently grow your list with genuinely interested subscribers. Growing the list is often more valuable than sending to the same shrinking list.
It can be, if set up correctly. GDPR requires a lawful basis for processing (usually consent for marketing), clear unsubscribe mechanisms, and accurate data handling. I set up every email programme with GDPR compliance built in from the start.
