Website QA Testing

Expert website testing, before your customers find the problems.

Most websites launch with issues. Not because the developer did a bad job, but because proper QA is a discipline most web agencies do not apply systematically. I test your website across 60+ checkpoints before you go live, so the problems are found and fixed rather than discovered by customers or Google.

Why this matters

If you are not in this industry, you do not know what to look for.

A website that looks good and seems to work is not the same as a website that is technically sound. Most business owners approve a website based on how it looks. They have no way to check the SEO foundations, the page speed, the security configuration or whether Google can actually crawl and index the pages properly.

These are the issues I find most commonly when reviewing sites that are about to launch:

xContact form looks correct but submissions are silently failing
xGoogle Analytics tracking code missing or firing incorrectly
xPage speed score of 30 on mobile because images were never optimised
xNo XML sitemap submitted so Google cannot find the new pages
xHTTP mixed content warnings appearing on HTTPS pages
xSchema markup missing so rich results will not appear in search
xWordPress not updated and already vulnerable to known exploits
xMobile layout broken on iPhone SE because it was only tested on one device size
What you get

A systematic, expert review across every dimension of your website.

I work through a 60+ point checklist covering SEO, page speed, functionality, mobile and browser compatibility, security, content and accessibility. Every issue is documented clearly with a severity rating (critical, important, minor) and a recommended fix.

You receive a written report you can take directly to your developer. If you need help implementing the fixes, I can do that too. Most critical issues are fixable within hours once identified.

This is not an automated tool report. I review every page manually and test every function. Automated tools miss the things humans catch.

The outcome

A written report of every issue found, rated by severity, with specific recommendations. A website that launches clean, fast, secure and indexable by Google from day one.

"We wanted more control over our website, as we'd been relying on another agency to make updates. Being able to change content ourselves quickly was important, and the custom WordPress website now lets us do just that. The new site has already helped boost our sales."

"After opening our new flooring showroom, I knew we needed a strong online presence. Finding the right website designer in Bradford made all the difference. We now have a great site that shows up locally for the keywords our customers are searching. It's the little percentage improvements that the team have really helped us with, we're already seeing more people coming through the doors."

Good to know

Frequently asked questions.

Yes, for two reasons. First, most developers test for functionality but not systematically for SEO, performance benchmarks, security or accessibility. Second, independent review is the only objective check. A developer reviewing their own work has an incentive to find it satisfactory.
Yes. Most critical issues are fixable quickly once identified. If you want me to implement the fixes, I quote for that separately. Some clients take the report back to their developer; others prefer me to handle everything.
Most sites up to 20 pages: 24 to 48 hours from receiving access. Larger sites and complex ecommerce stores may take longer. I always give you an honest timeline before starting.
Ideally: access to the staging or live site, WordPress admin access (or equivalent CMS), Google Analytics access, Google Search Console access. If some of these are not set up yet, that is fine and I will flag it as part of the review.
Yes. A post-launch QA is particularly useful for sites that were never properly reviewed before going live, or sites that have been redesigned. I review the live site and give you a prioritised list of fixes.
Not exactly. “Audit” gets used loosely. A QA review is an in-depth technical check of a specific website, before or after launch, covering functionality, security, speed, mobile, accessibility and SEO, delivered as a written report with every issue rated by severity. If you only want a quick, no-obligation view on whether your site is worth a closer look, that is what the free 15-minute call is for. Think of the QA review as the thorough, paid version of that conversation.
