Website Management

Your website, run for you by someone who actually knows how.

Most business owners do not have the time, or the inclination, to log in and update their own website. So it goes stale. Prices drift out of date, the team page lists people who left, the blog has not moved in two years. I become your outsourced website manager, handling every update and improvement so your site stays current, accurate and working hard.

The problem

Your website is one of your biggest assets. When did you last actually update it?

A website is not a "build it and forget it" project. It needs feeding: new prices, new services, new photos, fresh blog content, updated opening hours, the latest offer. But you are busy running the business, and logging into WordPress to make a change is either something you never get round to, or something you are nervous about breaking.

So the site quietly falls behind, and every month it does, it works a little less hard for you. Sound familiar?

xPrices, services or menus on the site are out of date and you keep meaning to fix them
xYou are nervous about editing the site yourself in case you break something
xThe blog or news section has not been touched in months, or years
xYou have new photos, reviews or case studies sitting in a folder, never added
xSmall fixes (a broken link, a wrong phone number) linger for weeks
xYou pay a developer hourly and feel guilty calling them for "little jobs"
xSeasonal offers go up late and come down even later
xYou simply do not have the time to manage it, and it is not a good use of yours
What I do

I become your website manager, without the cost of hiring one.

You email me what you need changing, and I handle it. Updating a price, adding a new service page, publishing a blog post, swapping photos, adding products, fixing a typo, putting up a seasonal banner. Whatever your website needs to stay current and effective, I take care of it, usually the same day.

It is like having an in-house website manager on the team, with 20 years of web and digital experience behind every update, for a fraction of the cost of employing one. You stay in control of what goes on the site. I handle actually making it happen.

What I handle for you:

  • Content and page updates
  • New pages built and added
  • Blog and news posts published
  • Product and price updates
  • Photo and image changes
  • Adding reviews and testimonials
  • Seasonal banners and offers
  • Menu and navigation changes
  • Broken link and error fixes
  • Plugin and software updates
  • Speed and performance tweaks
  • Monthly check-in and suggestions
The outcome

A website that always reflects your business as it is today, current, accurate and improving, without you ever having to log in or learn how it works.

How it works

Simple to use, from day one.

01

A quick handover

I take secure access to your website, whatever it is built on, WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace or something else. I review how it is set up so I can work on it confidently and safely, and take a backup before touching anything.

02

You email what you need

When something needs changing, you just email or message me in plain English. No forms, no ticketing system, no jargon. "Can you update our prices", "add this new team member", "publish this blog post". That is all I need.

03

I make it happen

I make the change properly: correctly formatted, on-brand, mobile-checked and SEO-friendly. Most everyday updates are turned around the same day. Larger jobs like new pages are scoped and scheduled with you first.

04

I keep it healthy

In the background I keep your site updated, backed up and secure, the same care a maintenance plan provides, so you never have a stale, broken or vulnerable website.

05

Monthly check-in

Once a month I take a proper look at the site and suggest improvements you might not have thought of, content that could rank, pages that could convert better, anything looking dated. You decide what to action.

Why it makes sense

An in-house website manager, without the salary.

Hiring someone in-house to manage your website properly costs £30,000+ a year, and most small businesses do not have enough website work to justify a full-time role anyway. Paying a developer by the hour for every small change adds up fast, and makes you reluctant to ask.

A monthly website management plan sits neatly in between: ongoing, dependable, and far cheaper than either alternative. You get a known monthly cost, a website that is always current, and one experienced person who knows your site inside out.

What clients say.

"Searching for website designers gave us a long list to choose from, but we're so glad we found Richard at Harrison Mann. He's been incredibly helpful with digital marketing advice and support, and thanks to him, we've now got a solid plan in place to boost footfall at both of our salons."

"We wanted more control over our website, as we'd been relying on another agency to make updates. Being able to change content ourselves quickly was important, and the custom WordPress website now lets us do just that. The new site has already helped boost our sales."

"After opening our new flooring showroom, I knew we needed a strong online presence. Finding the right website designer in Bradford made all the difference. We now have a great site that shows up locally for the keywords our customers are searching. It's the little percentage improvements that the team have really helped us with, we're already seeing more people coming through the doors."

Frequently asked questions.

Almost any. WordPress, Umbraco and Shopify are my specialisms, but I also manage sites on Wix, Squarespace, Webflow and others. If you are not sure what your site is built on, tell me the web address and I will find out.
However suits you. Most clients just email me in plain English. Some prefer a quick message or a shared list. There is no portal to learn or ticket system to wrestle with, you describe what you need and I handle the technical side.
Most everyday updates, prices, text, photos, a new blog post, are done within 48 hours, often the same working day. Larger jobs such as building new pages or sections are scoped and scheduled with you so you always know when they will be ready. If you need urgent, same-hour updates regularly, I can discuss that and adjust the plan and price accordingly.
I will always tell you before you do. If a month is busier than usual, additional work is charged at a clear hourly rate that you approve first, or I move you to a plan that better fits how much you use. No surprise bills.
They overlap and you can have both. A care plan keeps your site updated, backed up and secure in the background. Website management adds the hands-on side, actively making the content and page changes your business needs. Most management plans include the care plan essentials as standard.
Completely. You own everything and you decide what goes on the site. I am simply the person who makes it happen, properly and quickly. You can take full control back or move to another provider whenever you wish, with all your logins and files handed over.
Yes, and that is where the real value is. Alongside day-to-day updates I proactively suggest improvements, better-converting pages, content that could rank on Google, dated sections worth refreshing. Your website gets steadily better over time rather than just staying still.
